The inspiration behind this piece is actually drawn from a specific event: a car accident. January 8th 2022, I was in a scary car accident that both myself and the other driver walked out of scratch-free (can't say the same for our cars). However the interesting part is that all day I felt as though I wasn't supposed to leave the house. I dragged my feet, but eventually went out to run a few errands and as soon as I walked out of the door it felt as though every cell in my body was screaming. Long story short after some back and forth, I ended up out later that night and this happened. The absolute craziest part is that when I was talking with the other driver he said how he was talking to a friend of his about how he felt like he wasn't supposed to go out that night! I couldn't believe it. On my ride home in a busted up car, I noticed the moon was super low and an orangey-yellow. It was hazy and quite the ominous, but beautiful sight. I splattered this canvas in the middle of the night because I couldn't sleep. The name, Siren Moon, came to me shortly after I finished painting. The scene took a few days to map out, but I painted the moon as soon as the canvas was dry.
